JNLP 1.1

The JNLP plugin offers new functionalities based on generative AI to complement all the existing functions of your Digital Workplace.

1. When should you use this plugin?

Jalios' mission is to make organizations more efficient and everyone's work more fulfilling. The JNLP plugin is fully in line with this mission. Thanks to the contributions of generative AI, JNLP saves employees time by assisting them in their daily tasks: answering their queries, finding the right information, writing, filing, summarizing, etc.

Thanks to the integration of different generative AI solutions such as Azure Open AI, Google Gemini, Gladia, Mistral AI, NLP Cloud, Open AI and OVHCloud, JNLP enables organizations to choose the provider that best matches their needs in terms of cost, performance and data sovereignty.

What's more, JNLP is also a framework with which you can offer new business functionalities by exploiting the new field of possibilities offered by generative AI.

2. What does this module offer?

JNLP offers functionalities based on generative AI. These features fall into 5 main categories:

  1. Writing assistance
  2. Content enhancement
  3. Video enhancement
  4. Conversation with documents and videos
  5. Assistants

2.1 Writing assistance

Writing assistance is a new feature designed to help all contributors in their content production. It aims to improve the clarity, quality and readability of information, while saving time and effort for users. It also helps combat the phenomenon of the blank page.

All JPlatform's rich text editors offer writing assistance. You can use it in an article, blog post, Wiki page, task description or comment. The writing aid is presented in the form of a magic wand icon that gives access to a menu. This menu offers several functions:

  • Continue... enter what you want to write, and JNLP will produce it. The more precise your request, the better the text generated will meet your expectations.
  • Reformulate: reformulates the selected text according to your chosen style (professional, benevolent, persuasive, etc.)
  • Develop: expands on the selected text
  • Summarize: summarizes the content of the selected text
  • Suggest titles: suggest titles for the selected text (content titles, section titles, etc.)
  • Write introduction or conclusion

 

2.2 Content enhancement

JNLP can generate a summary for any type of content. A summary saves readers time by helping them to quickly determine whether a piece of content meets their expectations.

To generate a summary, simply go to the publication actions menu and click on the "Enhance" menu (the one with the magic wand), then click on the Summarize option.

 

JNLP also helps you classify your content. Good classification not only aids research, but also makes it easier to quickly find out what a piece of content is about. Here too, simply click on the "Add tags" option in the "Enhance" menu on a content item. JNLP will then offer you classification in existing categories, or even suggest new ones.

 

The Enrich menu is expandable. Modules can add new functionalities depending on the nature of the content. For example, the experimental "Quiz Generator" module produces a quiz on any content. This module is available at (Restricted access link) .

2.3 Video enrichment

Add value to your videos by subtitling them and generating transcriptions. These enhancements will make your video content more accessible to everyone, without the sound. Once subtitled, video content becomes searchable with the search engine, and also features other enrichment functionalities, such as summary and classification.

 

2.4 Conversation with documents and videos

Generative AI makes previously unimaginable functionalities accessible to all. This is particularly true of conversation with documents. Thanks to the RAG (Retreival Augmented Generation) technique, JNLP lets you converse with a document, as if you were talking to someone who has read it. You ask your questions in your own language, just as you would if you were talking to someone, and the document answers you in your own language. And the answer is accompanied by references to the precise pages of the document used to formulate the answer. So you can check the information at source. It's a conversation, so you can take several questions at a time. JNLP will take your previous questions into account when answering.

 

You can also converse and ask questions about the videos. To do this, the video must be subtitled. If this is not the case, JNLP will automatically launch subtitling. The exchange then proceeds in the same way as with a document. And for each response, JNLP points to the precise passages in the video that were used to construct the answer.

 

2.5 ChatGPT-style conversation

JNLP provides an interface for conversing with the AI on general topics, just as you can with ChatGPT: asking questions, performing analysis, synthesis and writing tasks, etc.

2.6 Assistants

The conversation functionality only allows you to exchange views on very general subjects that the AI has been trained to deal with. But if you want to ask questions that are specific to your organization and for which the answers are in content present in your platform, you need to go through the assistants.

Assistants are conversational agents specialized in a particular subject. You can predefine their behavior and, above all, feed them with content and documents from your platform. They can then answer questions relating exclusively to this content. It's a generalized form of conversation with documents, extended to a set of data on a subject.

For example, you could offer an HR assistant, fed by the various HR contents on your platform (charters, mutual insurance coverage, collective agreements, FAQs, etc.). If you change the contents (e.g. you add a new question to the FAQ), the assistant is automatically updated. The assistant's knowledge can also be enriched by public content on the Internet. And, as always in JPlatform, rights are checked. So, if you've set up an assistant with content reserved for certain people, the assistant will only use it to answer if the person asking is one of the authorized persons.

Wizards are accessible within the JNLP application, but can also be inserted into portals and collaborative spaces, in the form of a portlet.
