JReading 1.4.3
A lot of information is circulating on your site. Sometimes you may find a publication interesting, but you don't want to stop now to read it. Save it to your reading list!
Are you surfing the web from your computer or smartphone and come across a publication you'd like to re-read later? The JReading module lets you add it to your reading list with a single click.
Any content can be added to the reading list, and JReading lets you classify the contents of your reading list in the 'Unread' or 'Archive' tabs.
JReading also pairs finely with the JMag and JTube modules, so you can build reading lists with the latest shared web pages and videos.
When to use this module?
Do you want to help your employees manage their working hours more effectively, be more productive and make the most of waiting and transport time?
The JReading module will help them organize their day and boost productivity.
From their computer or smartphone via JMobile, your employees will be able to add to their reading list content from the Jalios platform that they find interesting or that has been recommended to them. This will enable them to concentrate on their priority tasks, and find the content they have put aside in just a few clicks, to read at the right times of the day on their smartphone via JMobile, particularly when they are on the move or waiting for something
Watching a video can be time-consuming. With the JTube module, they will be able to add videos to their reading list with a single click, making them easy to find in the JTube application (on computer or smartphone). And if they don't have time to watch the whole video, no worries: when they come back to the video, they will be automatically repositioned to where they left off.
Thanks to notifications, there's no risk of forgetting to play a video, and your colleagues will no longer need to interrupt their work to read a publication immediately for fear of not finding it again!
What does this module offer?
From their computer or smartphone, employees open the action menu on the content page of their Jalios platform and add it to their reading list for later reading. The content is then saved in the "Unread" tab of their reading list.
Once the content has been saved as ‘Unread’ in their reading list, they can :
- remove it from their reading list, or
- leave it in the reading list but mark it as read. The content will then be moved to the "Archive" tab of their reading list.
For web pages (JMag module), in addition to the action menu, a 'Read it later' button is present below the text.
- By clicking on 'Read it later', contributors add the web page to their specific reading list of web pages to read ('Reading List' tab of the JMag module app display) and at the same time to the 'Unread' tab of the 'Reading List' app. The 'Reading List' tab in the JMag app makes it easier to find web pages that have been set aside.
- A web page marked as read will be moved to the 'Archive' tab of the 'Reading List' app and will no longer appear in the 'Reading List' tab of the JMag app.
- Clicking on 'Remove from your Reading List' removes the web page from the 'Reading List' app and the 'Reading List' tab of the JMag app.
For videos shared in JTube, in addition to the action menu, a 'Watch later' button is present below the text.
- By clicking on 'Watch later', contributors add the video to the 'Watch later' tab in the JTube app view, and at the same time to the 'Unread' tab in the 'Reading List' app.
- A video marked as read will be moved to the 'Archive' tab in the 'Reading List' app and will no longer appear in the 'Watch Later' tab in the JTube app.
- Clicking on 'Remove from your Reading List' removes the video from the 'Reading List' app and from the 'Watch later' tab of the JTube app.
Collaborators who have not finished watching a video will find it in the 'Continue to watch' tab of the JTube app. If this video has been set aside (click on 'Watch later' or 'Read it later' from the video page), it will also be present in the 'Unread' tab of the 'Reading List' app and the 'Watch later' tab of the JTube app. This means they can easily find videos they've already started, and resume viewing at any time from where they left off.
Employees can access the "Reading List" application via different paths. Depending on their preference, they choose to open the app
- from the Top bar application launcher,
- from the side panel visible by clicking on their profile icon (photograph or initials) to the right of the Top bar,
- by clicking on the reminder notification, or
- by searching for 'Reading List' throughout the site using the search engine.
The 'Reading List' app features a card-format display, with an interface presenting
- a display with
- an 'Unread' tab for displaying content to be read (default display),
- an 'Archive' tab to display content that has already been read or watched,
- filters (by space, category and contributor) and
- the option of adding the 'Jalios JReading' extension to the browser
JReading enables employees surfing the web to add the web page they are currently viewing to their reading list
- in one click from a computer using the Chrome or Firefox browser (extension for Chrome and Firefox to be installed beforehand): the page is added to the 'Unread'" tab of the 'Reading list' app. They can then share it in JMag.
- from a smartphone by sharing the web page with JMobile, then clicking on 'Read it later'.
Collaborators with content to read in their reading list receive a weekly notification reminding them of unread content.
