What it is
The JLearn Plugin is the foundation of the Jalios Social Learning solution.
Whit this plugin you can create or share learning resources. A learning resource can wrap a document, a video (on your site or on Internet), a content, a guide, a quiz, a SCORM content (2004 or 1.2).
The JLearn module supports Jalios' Digital and Social Learning offer. It is functionally similar to Learning Management System (LMS/LXP) and enables employees to be trained via online content distribution but also via face-to-face courses or virtual classes.
In addition to facilitating the referencing, the availability and management of learning content, JLearn makes it possible to assess the knowledge acquired and to manage employee participation in order to measure training efforts.
Once deployed, JLearn can be used in one or more collaborative spaces in conjunction with other services already deployed.
JLearn is also available as a stand-alone webapp in SaaS or on site. In this form, it is also known as 1day1learn, named after the Jalios affiliate company that created it.
In addition to its use in responsive design, a mobile application for learners is also available
When to use this module?
- If you need to train your employees using digital content or by mixing e-learning, face-to-face and virtual classes (Blended Learning).

What does this module offer?
- This module allows you to create or share learning resources in the form of capsules/modules called Learnings. Learnings can encapsulate a document, a video (local or remote), existing JPlatform content, a tutorial or guide, a quiz, SCORM (2004 or 1.2) content, a web link, HTML5 content, etc.
- JLearn can also be used to reference external courses such as MOOCs, but also face-to-face courses, webinars and virtual classes and to manage their participation.
- Learnings can be assembled into Learning Paths (blended learning) that also include classroom, virtual classrooms, webinars, quizzes, and surveys.
- Each Learning or Path has a set of metadata: level, duration, themes, type of content, keywords, approvals, etc.
- Learners can discuss the Learnings and the Paths via the comments.
- Face-to-face training, virtual classroom but also path or even a Learning can be organized in several sessions with different modes of registration and participation possible.
- JLearn manages the follow-up of the learners' activities: Learnings started, completed, shared, progress in the Paths, quizzes, etc... Dashboards allow to see progress (individually, by team, by department, by group).
- JLearn provides a catalogue to search for Learnings and Paths: textual search, by theme, by level, etc... It is possible to have a global catalogue as well as specific catalogues for each collaborative space.
- Regular alerts can be sent to members to remind them of content they have not yet started and/or not yet completed.
- JLearn allows the automatic generation of certificates of participation and certificates with validity date management.
JLearn also offers native content creation functionalities:
- Tutorial guides (based on JGuide)
- Multimedia files
- Quizzes and Surveys (based on Liveform)
A mobile application for learners is also available.

- Note that version 3.5 is not compatible with JPlatform 10 SP4 and earlier. You must use JLearn version 3.4 if you are still on this old version.
- A new version is planned to work with the future JPlatform 10 SP6 version.
Catalog, Learnings, and Paths
- It is now possible to give a mandatory character to a Learning, to a Path, or to a course for designated learners. This is done via a session to have targeted reminders.
A new tab lists them in the dashboard and a specific icon allows you to identify them at several points of the application. - Thanks to the new version 4.0 of JGuide, it is now possible to create learning with composite contents. Each step can contain an image or a video but also an MP3, a multimedia text (WYSIWYG), a pdf, an animated image made for example with Genia.ly, a link to a URL, a JPlatform content like a wiki, etc.
This avoids having to go through a process with too many steps.
For more information: JGuide 4.0 module. - The statistics displayed on the Participants tab can lead to significant performance degradation when many users follow a course with several dozen Learnings. It is now possible to defer these calculations so that they are updated only once a day (Module settings)
- The behavior of a Learning pointing to a URL has been improved. When the targeted site does not allow display in a third-party window, it is possible to display an image of your choice and a link to open the URL in another browser window.
- Effective participation in a training course (and thus the obtaining of a certificate) can be conditioned to taking an evaluation directly linked to the training (without going through a path).
Sessions
- By popular demand, it is now possible to name a group as the registration manager when this role is assumed by a team. This can be done by default at the content level or specifically at a given session.
- A learner can now request a session if one is not offered or if the dates and/or locations are not convenient. This function is defined at the content (course/learning/path) level. Requests are directed to designate manager(s) who will be able to respond by creating new sessions and informing the requesters.
- A registrant in a virtual classroom session is now automatically set to Started status as soon as they click Join Class.
- Added new possibilities for automatic reminders to registrants before the start of virtual classes
- Session cancellations have been improved: information to registrants, change of status for registrants and stop sending automatic alerts to the various participants.
- Control of access rights to a content (learning/course/training/session) is now performed live when learners register for a session.
- Automatic closing of registrations for a session with registration without validation once the maximum number of participants has been reached.
- Systematization of the sending of an ICS-type invitation (Outlook, Google, etc.) when changing to registered status for a session.
Training Requests
- A new process allowing users to request non-catalog training can be deployed. Two standard workflows are supported: with or without manager notification. These two workflows can coexist within the same space.
- The members authorized to make a request must be part of a specific group and the same goes for the managers who will have to process these requests.
- A form is provided to document the request and to allow the manager(s) to process it in the best possible way. Requests issued, in-process, and processed are displayed in the Stakeholder Dashboard.
- The manager has different statuses and information fields to decide on the follow-up, with automatic notifications to the requester, and even to the manager if his opinion was required.
